About Maara o Rongo

Maara o Rongo is a Māori-owned wellbeing brand born from our whenua at Te Rau o Rongo in Onaero, Taranaki. We grow, gather, and hand-craft a small collection of artisan skincare and herbal tisanes — including body butters, scrubs, balms, hydrosols, and bath salts — each made slowly and with intention. Many of our ingredients are raised right here in our maara under the principles of Hua Parakore, Aotearoa's kaupapa Māori organic verification system, then hand-picked, dried, and blended on our land. Grounded in te ao Māori, our philosophy is simple: that what comes from the whenua, made with aroha, has the power to nourish and restore. Every jar, spray, and pouch is a taonga — infused with the mauri of our garden, and crafted to honour the wahine, whānau, and hands that carry so much.
